Pow Wow Arbor, Twin Buttes Fairgrounds

West of the rodeo arena and outdoor track lies the pow wow arbor on the Twin Buttes Fairground.  A 160-foot diameter roof covers a pow wow competition dance floor.  The open-sided steel structure arbor allows for up to 740 spectators who can choose either fixed bleacher seating at the perimeter or loose seating close to the dance floor. The steel roof offers shade for dancers and spectators alike.  But a 48-foot diameter clear acrylic skylight in the center provides diffused light during the day.  Night-time events are lit by LED lighting that can be programmed for dramatic or active scenes.

Events are called from a 685 square foot climate-controlled announcer booth that is constructed on a raised platform within the diameter of the overall pow wow structure.   The generous platform provides a stage for presenting awards. Paved parking for 200 vehicles is adjacent to the rodeo arena and outdoor track and 300 stalls near the pow wow arbor.

The competition dance floor is made up of synthetic turf that is well supported yet cushioned by engineered fill material beneath.  The cushioned floor provides dancers with a safe and stable surface for performances.
